Bokeo Province, Lao PDR — The Office of Extension and Training Kamphaengsaen (OET KPS), led by Assistant Professor Rattana Angkasit, Special Expert of OET KPS, collaborated with Ms. Witida Sivakua, Head of the Promotion of Cooperation for Development based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) Group, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA). The delegation was also joined by Dr. Aikawa Jiro, Senior Advisor from JICA Headquarters, Mr. Yohei Namazu, Representative of JICA Thailand Office, and the project advisory team for the Smallholder Horticulture Empowerment and Promotion (SHEP) project from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Together, they conducted a field visit to monitor and evaluate training program alumni at the Technical-Vocational School in Bokeo Province, Lao PDR.

During the visit, the training alumni reported on the implementation progress of their Action Plans and exchanged experiences regarding how they applied the acquired knowledge to enhance instructional methods, agriculture, and local community development. The monitoring and evaluation committee provided valuable recommendations for improving and scaling up these activities. Additionally, the team visited actual agricultural plots and ongoing field activities, and interviewed relevant stakeholders to assess the outcomes and impacts derived from implementing the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and the SHEP approach—both of which serve as vital frameworks for empowering smallholder farmers and driving long-term community resilience.
