OETKPS Empowers African Delegates with Cost-Benefit Analysis and Good Agricultural Practices for Sustainable Rice Production
On January 28, 2026, the “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries 2026” training program, a collaboration between OETKPS, Kasetsart University (Kamphaeng Saen), JICA, and TICA, focused on strengthening farm management skills and production standards. The day commenced with a session on “Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) in Rice Production” led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rapee Dokmaithes, equipping participants with essential principles for evaluating costs and maximizing economic viability in farming. This was seamlessly integrated into the “Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) for Rice” module conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chainarong Rattanakreetakul. The GAP session emphasized comprehensive agricultural practices—ranging from optimal site selection and efficient water and pest management to meticulous record-keeping—aimed at achieving safe, high-quality, and environmentally friendly yields. These vital management skills serve as the cornerstone for elevating sustainable rice production across the African region.
