OETKPS Leads African Delegates on a Field Study to Chiang Rai, Exploring Rice Genetics and Full-Cycle Agribusiness Models

On February 3, 2026, the international training program “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries 2026,” a collaboration between Kasetsart University (Kamphaeng Saen), JICA, and TICA, took participants on an insightful field study to Chiang Rai province. The delegation first visited the Chiang Rai Rice Research Center to explore advanced knowledge in rice genetics, cultivation techniques, and the selection of resilient rice varieties suitable for diverse environmental conditions. Following this, the group proceeded to Thana Grain Polish Co., Ltd., a leading expert in the production and processing of Japanese rice for export, to study comprehensive full-cycle agribusiness management models. These practical experiences provided the delegates with crucial insights and strategies to adapt and elevate rice production efficiency, ultimately driving sustainable food security across the African region.
