Third Country Training Program (TCTP) - Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries : Day 21
On February 5, 2025, the international training program “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries” provided participants with an in-depth learning experience on rice disease diagnosis and pest management.
In the morning, Dr. Pisut Kheawmanee led a lecture and hands-on training session on “Rice Disease Diagnosis and Disease Control” at the Department of Plant Pathology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Kamphaeng Saen, Kasetsart University. Participants examined pathogens and observed disease symptoms in rice using microscopes to enhance their diagnostic skills.
In the afternoon, the training focused on identifying rice insect pests and exploring biological control methods. Participants observed pest characteristics up close and learned effective strategies for pest management. The session offered valuable practical experience in sustainable rice farming practices.
