Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries 2026

       The Office of Extension and Training Kamphaeng Saen (OET.KPS.), Kasetsart University, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), has once again launched an international training program under the course ‘Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries 2026,’ held from 14 January to 20 February 2026 at the Kings Palm Room, Training Building, National Agricultural Extension and Training Center. The program aims to strengthen Thailand–Africa relations while transferring advanced rice production technologies to promote sustainable global food security.

       On 15 January 2026, the program began in the morning with an online course orientation organized by JICA and CARD, outlining the learning objectives and program overview. This was followed by a campus tour around Kamphaeng Saen Campus for the participants.
In the afternoon, Dr.Kanyarat Chiewvech, Director of the Office of Extension and Training Kamphaeng Saen, delivered a warm welcome and introduced the missions and roles of the Office. She was joined by Assoc. Prof. Chukiat Ruksorn and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanate Malumpong, who provided guidance and an overview of the program.
       The day concluded with the first lecture, “Rice Value Chain,” delivered by Asst.Prof.Dr.Sonthaya Sampaothong, laying a comprehensive foundation for understanding the rice value chain.
