The Office of Extension and Training Kamphaeng Saen (OET.KPS.), conducted the training course “Sustainable Community Development Program based on the Application of SEP and SHEP” from 23 November to 9 December 2025 for 18 agricultural extension officers from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and 2 participants from Thailand, with the aim of enhancing knowledge in sustainable community and agricultural development in accordance with SEP and SHEP principles. On 1 December 2025, a full-day training session was organized. The morning session covered “Self-determination Theory”, which focused on motivating farmers to make decisions independently, develop their skills and competencies, and work effectively with stakeholders. The session was honored to have Dr. Jiro Aikawa as the lecturer. In the afternoon, the training continued with “SHEP Workshop 1”, which emphasized shifting farmers’ perspectives to think like entrepreneurs, starting with market analysis before production so they can plan agricultural activities that genuinely meet consumer needs. The session was delivered by Mr. Masafumi Nakanishi and Ms. Mako Yoshitani. The training took place at the King’s Palm Room, Training Building, National Agricultural Extension and Training Center.
