Third Country Training Program (TCTP) - Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries : Day 13
On January 26, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanet Malampong, the course supervisor, led participants of the international training program, “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries,” on a study visit. In the morning, they explored integrated rice production, the breeding of red water fern, livestock and fisheries management, Siamese giant fish farming at Maejo University, the production of compost and biological liquid fertilizers, soil fertility improvement, household accounting for production cost tracking, intercropping with rotational crops, and the cultivation of medicinal plants. Mr. Aram Lathip, the president of Doi Lo Community Enterprise, gave a lecture and guided the group through various stations at the Doi Lo Community Enterprise in Doi Lo Subdistrict, Doi Lo District, Chiang Mai.
In the afternoon, participants learned how to make rice crackers and crisp rice from longan and carrots. They were warmly welcomed by Ms. Srinual Manopanya, the president of the San Ko Ket Agricultural Product Processing Group, at the San Ko Ket Agricultural Product Processing Community Enterprise in Mae Ka Subdistrict, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai. Dr. Kanyarat Chiewvech, Director of The Office of Extension and Training Kamphaeng Saen, also joined this study visit.
