OETKPS, TICA, and JICA Successfully Conclude the "Rice Production 2026" International Training Program to Enhance Food Security in Africa
On February 19, 2026, the Office of Extension and Training, Kamphaeng Saen (OETKPS), Kasetsart University, in collaboration with the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), officially hosted the closing ceremony for the international training program “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries 2026” at the Hong Hern Room. This initiative, serving as a testament to Thai-Japanese development cooperation, was designed to build capacity in advanced rice production technologies for African nations. The ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Rattanatabtimtong, Assistant to the President for Research, Academic Services, and International Relations at KU Kamphaeng Saen Campus, with a comprehensive summary report delivered by Dr. Kanyarat Chiewwech, Director of the Office of Extension and Training. The event was further distinguished by congratulatory remarks from Mr. SAKUDO Shunsuke, Chief Representative of the JICA Thailand Office, and First Lieutenant Sorawud Preededilok, Minister at the Royal Thai Embassy in Helsinki, on duty at TICA. Representing the delegates, Mr. Ouannougo Soro delivered a heartfelt reflection on the knowledge and experiences gained, followed by an inspiring recap video and group photography that cemented the strong bonds between Thailand and the African continent. Leveraging its extensive expertise in comprehensive agricultural training, the Office of Extension and Training remains steadfast in its commitment to serving as a global learning hub, continually advancing Thai agricultural knowledge to foster sustainability within the international community.
