Third Country Training Program (TCTP) - Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries : Day 18
On January 31, 2025, the international training program titled “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries” had the honor of welcoming Ms. Siwalee Wongkhanthi, Senior Foreign Relations Officer, along with officials from the Department of International Cooperation (TICA). They visited the training session during the practical phase on rice planting techniques, which covered methods such as transplanting, machine seeding, direct seeding, using rice planters, and drone applications, under the topic “Rice Planting Methods.” The team also conducted interviews with instructors and participants from the project on the development of rice products in African countries (CARD) and strategies to enhance rice yields in the African subregion.
The visit took place at the Field Operations Unit, Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Kamphaeng Saen. In the afternoon, participants engaged in hands-on training on conventional rice breeding techniques, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaneat Malampong, at the laboratory of the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Kamphaeng Saen.
